How to Make Beard Oil or Beard Balm at Home( SPA )
What is BEARD OiL
Beard oil is just that, oil. Oil is often given a bad rap in beauty care, but using oil to cleanse and moisturize can actually help balance your body’s natural oils and lead to soft, healthy skin and hair.
Ingredients Instructions To apply: Notes Try using lemongrass or ylang ylang essential oils for stronger beard hair and increased growth.
1/2 oz argan oil (14 grams )
¼1/4 oz jojoba oil (7 grams)
1/4 oz sweet almond oil (7 grams)
7 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops rosemary essential oil
3 drops cedarwood essential oil
1. Combine all the ingredients in a 1 ounce amber glass bottle with a dropper.
2. Gently swirl to incorporate.
To Apply
1. Drop 3-5 drops in one hand. Longer beards will require more drops, but remember, a little goes a long way, so increase amount by one drop at a time.
2. Dip fingertips from the other hand in the oil and rub oil all over beard. When all the oil has been applied, use fingertips to massage oil down into the beard all the way to the skin.
3. Use a small comb to smooth down the beard.
4. For best results, apply daily to freshly washed beard that has been toweled dry.
Notes Try using lemongrass or ylang-ylang essential oils for stronger beard hair and increased growth.

Shea butter mask - SPA
The easiest way to use shea butter for your face is to purchase a cream that includes shea butter from a health food store, pharmacy, or online retailer. Shea butter can be applied directly to your face before you go to sleep. Applying cream with shea butter as part of your skincare routine in the morning might take some getting used to, as the fatty acids and oils in shea butter may make applying makeup on top of it difficult.
You can also make a facial mask using shea butter and several other ingredients. Wash your face first with a cream cleanser or warm water. Don’t expose your face to steam prior to use, as this will open your pores and make the shea butter more likely to get trapped in your skin and cause a breakout.
To make your own mask, mix together:
- 1 tablespoon of raw honey
- 3 to 4 drops of grape seed oil
- 1 tablespoon of pure shea butter

How to make lip balm, naturally~ Family
The basic Lip Chap recipe is below, it is so fun to be able to make something as simple as lip balm and immediately feel the relief of dry skin.
Lip Balm Ingredients
- 1 part yellow beeswax (example- 1 tablespoon)
- 2 parts cocoa butter (example-2 tablespoons) Note: .
- 2 parts Shea butter (example-2 tablespoons)
- 20 drops of lip balm safe flavorant of choice (or more or less to your preference) follow directions on flavorant for amount.
- Put about an inch of water in the bottom of a small pan and turn on medium heat.
- Place a small (pint size or smaller) jar in the water, being careful not to get in water inside the jar.
- Place all ingredients except the flavoring oils inside the glass jar and slowly melt, making sure not to get any water in jar. I use 2 tablespoons each of the butter(s) and coconut oil and 1 tablespoons of beeswax. This fills about 18 tubes.
- When all ingredients are melted, stir well and turn off heat, but leave jar in the water to keep warm.
- Stir in the essential oils.
- Use a glass dropper to quickly fill the containers. I leave the jar in the water but turn off the heat to keep the ingredients liquid while I do this.
- The mixture will settle slightly as it cools, so I also re-top the containers after about 2 minutes as they start to harden.
- Let sit without touching for several hours or until completely hardened.
- Store in a cool dry place (they will last for at least a year if stored correctly).
- Enjoy!

Magnesium Foot Scrub Recipe ( spa )
DIY Magnesium Foot Scrub Recipe Epsom salt or magnesium salts would be rough on their own, but the addition of a few other soothing ingredients creates a scrub that is both exfoliating and moisturizing with a cooling sensation to ease dry skin and irritation.
A liquid oil like almond or olive oil moisturizes skin, while the roughness of the magnesium exfoliates. This scrub is naturally unscented, though a variety of essential oils can be added for scent and additional skin benefits.
A pinch of cinnamon powder and a few drops of peppermint essential oil make a festive scrub, or rose petals and lavender oil make a floral version. Some other great combinations would be:
- 10 drops lavender essential oil and 1 teaspoon full of vanilla extract
- 10 drops citrus essential oil and 5 drops of peppermint essential oil
- 5 drops lemon essential oil and 5 drops rosemary essential
Summer is right around the corner and we all know how dry and cracked they get from wearing flip flops and going barefoot. You will be so pleased how this makes your feet feel. Pamper yourself !

Soap Clay ( family )
Move over SLIME, it is time to make SOAP CLAY
This is very easy and a lot of fun.
All you need for this project is;
- Marshmallow FLuff - 1 tablespoon. Do not substitute this item.
- Liquid soap - 2 tablespoons . Can also use shampoo or shower gel. whatever you choose the soap clay will have that smell and color.
- Cornstarch - enough for a soft dough
Mix the Marshmallow fluff and the Liquid soap ( or shampoo / shower gel ) together until it forms a smooth consistency.
Add small amounts of cornstarch until is forms a soft dough.
It was easier not to have a amount for the cornstarch because you will go by the feel to achieve the soft dough.
If you want you can add a colorant .
So at this point you get creative and form many different fun projects. Just like Playdough.
This soap harden overnight and can be used just like normal soap.

- When the shea butter is soft enough to stir but not melted (it will be lumpy), add the olive and your fragrance oils.

- Fold in a few drops of vitamin E oil, then spoon the cream into a container with a lid.
- Try to use it or give it away within six months to a year for best results.

How to stop static electricity from your clothes.
It is that time of year when everything is staticy and dry due to the cold weather. Nothing is more startling than going to pick something up and BAM ,, there is that sharp electric sting. I do not know about you but I will never get use to and I really do not like it at all :-)
Here are a couple things to help with your clothes to help eliminate it all together.
- The number 1 way is to hang your clothes out to dry. This is the BEST natural way to eliminate static.
- You could dry synthetic clothing separately.
- Try to reduce drying time of your clothes.
- Using white vinegar as a softener is a wonderful way. It only takes 1/2 of a cup per load. It also helps keep your washing machine clean. ( I have a laundry soap recipe WAY down to the bottom of this page)
- Wool Dryer balls
- Soap nuts
- ALso a aluminum ball in with your clothes
That's about it.. GOOD luck :-)

One of my least favorite chores made easy ~~ HOME
TOILET BOWL CLEANER
Pouring 3 cups of white vinegar into a toilet bowl before scrubbing the stains with a toilet brush. This is an effective stain-removing method. Pouring the vinegar into a spray bottle, draining the water from the toilet, and spraying the stains with vinegar is also effective. Combining a cup of vinegar with a cup of baking soda creates a fizzing reaction in the toilet, which helps to loosen stains. Allow the mixture to fizz for at least 10 minutes before using a toilet brush to scrub the toilet.

Some Great indoor houseplants to purify your quality of air ~~~ HOME
After Hurricane Irma left it's nasty path behind you could smell the YUCK in the air. Stagnant water, mold, all the chemicals in the air from the mass amount of debri left vehicle fumes, well you get the picture.
So I thought you could at least have some control of the air quality IN your home . Although you DO have many unwanted pollutants in your home on a day to day basis.
Indoor air quality is affected by:
- cleaning products, especially laundry detergent and fabric softener, as laundry chemicals are the top indoor pollutant
- chemical flame retardants in furniture, mattresses, and children’s PJs
- formaldehyde found in gas stoves, garbage bags, paper towels and tissues, carpet backing, and some fabrics
- fragrances
- other toxins carried in on your clothes and shoes from outdoors
- electromagnetic frequencies (from computers, WiFi, and other electronics)
-
Most of us here in Florida have these plants growing in our yard, however it would be nice to have a little of you're outside in with you !
The Most Effective Houseplants
These houseplants are the most effective at removing indoor air toxins and contaminants.
Bamboo PalmBamboo palms are effective at removing chemical contaminants from the air like formaldehyde and benzene. They also help to keep the air moist, which is especially helpful during winter months when heaters can produce overly dry indoor air.
Bamboo palms have a tropical appearance and, though green instead of the typical tan bamboo color, have the characteristic tall, skinny canes and fanned leaves.
Rubber Plant
The rubber plant is especially effective for removing formaldehyde from indoor air. It’s favored for its ease of growth, as well as its appearance, which features large, rubbery leaves.
The rubber plant can grow up to 8 feet tall in the proper conditions. This large ficus (ficus robusta) is bred for toughness, which means that it’s not only one of the most effective plants for purifying indoor air, but it’s sure to be hardy even in less than ideal conditions.
English Ivy
English ivy is most often seen growing as a covering in atriums and lobbies, but it makes a lovely feature if grown as a topiary. Like the rubber plant, English ivy is known for its ability to remove formaldehyde from the air.
English ivy needs lots of light to look its best, but does well when the temperature doesn’t get too hot. It is, however, very adaptable to its environment, as it will climb and spread over any surface given the chance.
Dwarf Date Palm
If you’re into tropical plants, the dwarf date palm is for you. It’s like an adorable mini palm tree that fits in your living room.
The dwarf date palm is one of the most effective palms for removing indoor air pollution, especially xylene, which is found in solvents and paint thinner. It’s also quite good at keeping the air moist and is fairly easy to grow.
Azaleas
The dwarf azalea has been bred to remain indoors and bloom seasonally, and boasts big, pretty blooms. You can purchase it nearly any time of year, and with some care, it can bloom over and over. Of course, you’ll want to keep it blooming because it’s efficient at cleaning the air too.
Orchids
All varieties of orchids are quite pretty, but the level to which they filter the air varies. For instance, the dendrobium orchid features plain white blooms and removes alcohols, acetone, formaldehyde, and chloroform from the air. On the other hand, the more vibrant moth orchid, which features colorful blooms, including the well-known bright pink centered ones, is not as effective at purifying the air.
I LOVE MY ORCHIDS,, but they are all outside hmmmm might have to bring some in :-)
Important Houseplant CautionSome houseplants can be poisonous to children and pets. The above houseplants are the most effective at cleaning indoor air, but not all of them are safe for children and pets. Make sure to research and check out any plant for safety before bringing it into your home. Personally, I have quite a few houseplants but keep them where I know pets and children won’t try to eat them.
So here you go.. have fun not only doing house work but hard work in your house. JUST KIDDING>
Have a beautiful day and enjoy all the fresh air !!

- Combine everything but the cotton rounds in the jar and shake or use an immersion blender to combine well.
- Stack the cotton rounds in the jar, then gently shake it to coat them with the mixture.
- Use a cotton round to wipe your makeup off anytime you need a quick DIY makeup remover. The cleansing wipes are great for traveling!
- Simply use about a teaspoon of raw honey (I like Raw Organic Honey ) and rub between your hands.
- Spread it over your face and massage in a circular motion.
- Allow the honey to sit for 5-10 minutes before removing with a warm cloth. Once your skin dries, it will be fresh and dewy!
#3 There is another way I have used MANY times, it is my body butter.
IF you don't mind smelling like chocolate.
I just rub a small amount on my face in circular motions then wipe off. I find it moisturizes as it removes my makeup. If you have more of an oily type of skin , this might not be the best for you.
#4 The 4th option.
Using Witch Hazel and Olive oil ( or Avocado oil or Jojoba oil or Coconut oil ) 50/50 ratio.
Just pour 1/4 cup Witch Hazel and 1/4 cup of your choice of oil in a glass jar. Mix well and use.
Will stay fresh for up to 1 week.
ON ALL OF AND ANYTHING YOU CLEAN YOUR FACE WITH. AVOID DIRECT EYE CONTACT.

Homemade Reusable Laundry Sheets ( Home )
Here is a "HOME" idea that is very easy and will make you feel good knowing you made it yourself !!!
I LOVE the smell and feel of fresh laundry, but who doesn't ?
Here is all you will need to help you achieve both !
- Small hand towel ( or some of your old clothes ) 15x12.5 size if needed, you might want to sew a inseam so they do not unravel in the dryer. It truly does not matter the size of the towel. The larger the towel, the more vinegar and oils are needed.
- About 13 oz of white vinegar.
- 5 ml of Lemon essential oil ( or essential or your choice )
- 6 ml of Lavender essential oil ( or essential of your choice )
The combination of these 2 oils are fresh and relaxing
The squares of material do not need to be fancy. At the dollar store they have washrags that work perfect !
The best one I have found are the baby washrags.
And your clothes will not smell like vinegar. It is important to keep them moist to KEEP the vinegar smell. The vinegar is the fabric softener. Make sure you do not overdo the essential oils. It is not recommended to use too much EO's in this recipe. You do not want them to stain your clothes.
NOW ON TO MAKING YOUR LAUNDRY SHEETS
Roll your dryer sheets and place into your airtight container. ( rolling them makes them look so dang cute ) OPTIONAL
In another container mix the vinegar and oils.
Pour the vinegar and essential oil mixture over the towels, making sure to saturate each one. You don’t want the towels to be dripping with liquid, but they should be damp to the touch. I recommend storing them in a large container that has a lid. That way, they won’t dry out before use. Once you’re ready to use, place one towel into the dryer and dry as normal.
And that's it !!

Colloidal Oatmeal Recipe ( Family )
Colloidal Oatmeal ( Avena Sativa ) is a natural product that helps ease some skin conditions such as dry & itchy skin and some skin rashes and irritations.
Colloidal Oatmeal is finely ground whole oats. The ground oats enable them to absorb liquid. When added to lukewarm bath water it will almost immediately produce a milky white liquid to the water. This will coat and sooth and protect your skin. The emollient , or skin softening properties comes from the oatmeal such as fiber and cellulose.
Eczema has been known to respond well the colloidal baths ~ Eczema is dry skin patches ~ and other conditions have also done well such as chickenpox ~ shingles ~ and others have found minor sores and mild sunburn ( warm water ) NOT HOT
You can make your own Colloidal Oatmeal with whole oats and a food processor , coffee grinder or blender.
Just purchase whole oates at your local grocery store.
One point to mention if your oats are too large they will just sink to the bottom . So be mindful in order to create your Colloid your ground oats need to be ground very well.
IT is all the same to use, whether you are using purchased colloidal or making your own. It works all the same.
Prepare your bath water NOT HOT, it will increase the irritated skin. Also hot water will remove moisture from your skin instead of lubricating it.
While your water is running add several cups of colloidal , you will see the white milky water from the colloidal, soat about 10-15 minutes then PAT dry. You can repeat as needed. Up to 3 times a day.

Homemade toothpaste ( FAMILY )
This recipe I copied from https://wellnessmama.com/1772/natural-toothpaste/
I found it very interesting and was asked from a handful of our customers to post this. I find this website to be very useful when I
am looking up some recipes other than soap. I just copied and pasted so you can reference it directly .
Just a note;
I learned in my certification class than cinnaman could be somewhat "hot" . But that is in a topical use. I personally have not tried this toothpaste. I was just posting this as requested.
Natural Toothpaste Ingredients
- About 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 2-3 Tablespoons of baking soda
- 2 small packets of stevia powder
- 15-20 drops of peppermint or cinnamon essential oil
- 10 drops myrrh extract (optional)
- Melt or slightly soften coconut oil.
- Mix in other ingredients and stir well. If using semi-hard coconut oil, use a fork, if not, use a spoon. If you are using completely melted coconut oil, you will need to stir several times while the mixture cools to keep the baking soda incorporated.
- Put mixture into small glass jar (I make different ones for each family member)
- Let cool completely.
- To use: dip toothbrush in and scrape small amount onto bristles. Could also use a small spoon to put on toothbrush.

Aloe ~ Rose Soother ( SPA )
It is that time of year when it is very dry and hard on our skin. Here in Florida we have the luxury of having nice weather year round. However we still have dry air in the winter and also need extra moisturing.
Here is a wonderful remedy that smells great and easy to make.
- You will need 1 part Aloe Vera Gel
- and 1 part fresh rose petals.
If you use your Aloe plant from your yard, only use the liquid part of the plant and not the "meat". it will only stay fresh for a of week or so at the very longest if you do not use a preservative.
Place 1/3 cup Aloe and 1/3 cup rose petals. Pack the petals well in your measuring cup to get a true amount.
Place both in a small food processor. Mix well , it will get a bit frothy. That is fine. Just make sure it is all mixed nicely.
You will notice it is very thick. YOu will have to press it against a strainer or other type of mesh sieve to get all the yummy juice out. After all the goodness is pressed out , place in a small glass jar with a tight fitting lid.
Store in your refridgerator.
Depending on the preservative that was used in the ALoe you purchased or the kind you put in , will depend on the life of your gel. It should last for a few weeks.
The benefits of Aloe are many. FROM
Sunburn ~ Bug bites ~Rashes ~ Dry Skin ~ and many other conditions that have claims of relief. So enjoy pampering yourself and helping out your family with this very soothing Skin gel you made all by yourself.

Dry Skin Brushing ( SPA )
Dry Skin brushing is pretty straight forward. You brush your dry skin with a dry brush. Then you shower.
Here are some of the benefits that are claimed with this awesome technique of exfoliation.
- It exfoliates your skin.
- It tightens your skin.
- It encourages blood flow .
- AND IT FEELS GREAT !
Your face and neck need a different type of brush for exfoliation.
If you can find a brush with a long handle, you will be happy.. it reaches those spots on your back that you cannot reach with your arms.
SO back to some of the benifits.
By removing dead skin, your skin will feel so soft and smooth. If done on a regular basis, you will feel a definite difference.
Some have said it has help prevent ingrown hairs.
There are some claims that are just silly.. SUCH AS
They help remove cellulite.
Removes toxins from your body.. just to remind you.. sweat and urination will help remove your body of those unwanted toxins and so,,,,,,,,,,,,, just be aware of claims that are just silly,.
If it sounds too good to be true,, it is.
All I know is that I love dry brushing just because I cannot reach my back when it needs to be scratched. And my skin just feels so smooth and soft. Then to shower after your dry brush feels amazing. Just as simple as that..
Give it a try......

Here is a Easy Massage oil for those sore muscles ( SPA)
First of all you will need a carrier oil. A carrier oil is a light oil that your essential oil blends with. It also has the "Slip" that you will need for your massage.
There are quite a few oils that will be appropriate for a massage. Each has a different slight odor and color.
- Avocado oil is a great oil for your massage. It is especially ideal for mature skin or skin with conditions that require additional moisture. This amazing oil rehydrates sun dried skin, it also nourishes as it is absorbed well.
- Grapeseed oil is a popular oil mostly chosen by massage therapist due to it's low odor and low risk of allergy. It absorbs easily in the skin. It is also considered a emollient oil.
- Jojoba oil ,, this is actually not a oil but a liquid wax. This amazing oil is also a top preferred oil for massages because it is not from a nut, so the possibility of a reaction is low. It has claims of healing properties as well a high moisturizer.
Before we move forward, your massage oil mixture will need to be put into a glass bottle. Totally avoid metal as the essential oil will have a reaction to it. And a plastic will be okay in a pinch, but the oils will eventually eat it's way through , so stay with a glass container :-)
Now to the essential oils !
Essential oils are VERY CONCENTRATED , so just remember no pouring, only use drops at a time. Less is more.
Here are a couple different ideas you can use to blend together or use essential oil separately if you prefer , this recipe is for a 6 oz of carrier oil.
- FLOWERY BLEND~~~. 15 drops of Rose ~ 8 drops of Geranium ~ 5 drops of Jasmine.
- COOL OUTDOOR BLEND ~~~ 15 drops of Lavender ~ 9 drops of Eucalyptus ~ 5 drops of Pine
- STIMULATING BLEND ~~~ 9 drops of Peppermint ~ 6 drops of Wintergreen ~ 3 drops of Ylang-Ylang
- WAKE UP BLEND~~~ 9 drops Lavender ~ 5 drops of Lemongrass
- You will add your EO oils to your bottle first. GENTLY. If you spill use a paper towel to clean up before you move forward. Careful not to touch your skin. Like I mentioned earlier, oils are very concentrated.
- After your oils are in your bottle, gently pour your carrier oil then GENTLY shake your bottle. And that is it.
- You can keep in a cool dry spot for up to 3-6 months.
Handle your essential oils carefully, some oils can irritate your skin. Do not apply oils directly to skin , some can cause skin sensitivity to skin when exposed to sun. And others can be toxic. Please read manufacturing directions .
